One person who has seen the trailer comments on IMDb.
“when I saw the trailer for the love guru I thought it would be a somewhat bad movie compared to what mike myers provided in austin powers, but I saw an early screening today and I was impressed. I like when I go see a movie and expect something bad and come out pleasantly surprised and the love guru did just that. The intro took me by surprise with great jokes from mike. The rest of the movie was a fun ride filled with humorous names and puns and cameos from many many comedians and artists and actors. I was very amused by stephen colbert and jim gaffigan’s (another great stand up comedian) sports newscasting, hilarious. If anybody gets a chance to see an early screening you should def go, if not then go when it officially is released.”
According to Fan House post, the movie isn’t as memorable as the Austin Powers movies but still is good.
Jessica Alba was hot… Justin Timberlake was funny… and Vern Troyer proved he can sorta act… but anyway you slice it, midgets equal funny. The hockey scenes were lame (Oh yeah… the movie is about a black superstar hockey player that can’t play anymore because the goalie of the opposing team stole his wife and the Toronto Maple Leafs pay a Guru to get them back together. However, the guru has his own agenda to be the worlds greatest Guru so he needs to get on Oprah and figures if he can do this she will put him on) and the last time I checked i thought there were more than 7 or 8 guys on a team… but i suppose that doesn’t matter. Thats about all I have to say about the movie. It was not really memorable like the Austin Powers movies… but it wasn’t an unpleasant experience by far.
The movie looks promising. Enjoy the the trailer.
