Kung Fu Panda Premiers This Week
Kung Fu Panda, directed by Mark Osborne, John Stevenson and written by Jonathan Aibel with Glenn Berger, premiers in France this week. The movie has a rich cast with Jack Black as Po, Angelina Jolie as Master Tigress, Jackie Chan as Master Monkey, Dustin Hoffman as Shifu, and Lucy Liu as Master Viper.
Kung Fu Panda details the story of Po, a lazy and irreverent slacker panda, who is a big fan of Kung Fu. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po’s dreams become true as he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies under the leadership of martial arts guru, Master Shifu. Po puts his heart and girth to become a master in Kung Fu and at the end of the movie, Po finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths.
Spill.com reports that Po becomes an unlikely kung-fu hero when a treacherous enemy spreads chaos through the countryside.
Now an ancient prophecy has come to pass, and Po realizes that he is the only one who can save his people from certain destruction. With time running short and malevolent snow leopard Tai Lung closing in, Furious Five legends Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper, Monkey, and their wise sensei Master Shifu all draw on their vast knowledge of fighting skills in order to transform a lumbering panda bear into a lethal fighting machine. Now, if the noble Po can master the martial arts and somehow transform his greatest weaknesses into his greatest strengths, he will fulfill his destiny as the hero who saved his people during their darkest hour.
According to Empire Movies, Po’s defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest of all the animals in ancient China.
That’s a problem because powerful enemies are at the gates, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophesy naming Po as the “Chosen One” to save the day. A group of martial arts masters are going to need a black belt in patience if they are going to turn this slacker panda into a kung fu fighter before it’s too late.
